Vocílková, Andrea ; Dobiášová, Karolína (advisor) ; Tušková, Eva (referee)
The bachelor thesis "Alternatives to formal care for children of preschool age" deals with preschool childcare in the Czech Republic, with focus on its alternative forms. This issue needs to be discussed as the capacity of public nursery schools is insufficient, therefore the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs has published Set of Pro-family Measures - Pro-family Package. These alternatives, those that are currently regulated and public nursery schools and crèches as well are described and then the current situation of prepared changes in alternatives to formal care is introduced. These issues are also subject of qualitative research, which constitutes the following part of the text. In this practical part of the text expert interviews were held to explore experience and attitudes of preschool children's parents and carers from preschool facilities about these forms of preschool childcare. According to primary data the positives and negatives of different forms of preschool childcare are identified. The result is that for both parents and carers the child development is important, so they would prefer the increase of nursery school capacities rather than expansion of alternative...
Children's Group as an Alternative Care Service for Preschool Children
OULEHLOVÁ, Lenka
The bachelor thesis focuses on the children's group as an alternative care service for pre-school children, in which two main goals were set. The first aim of the bachelor thesis was to find out what is the care of children in selected children groups in the South Bohemian Region. The second objective was to find out how the parents are satisfied with the service of children's groups and why they choose this alternative. The theoretical part is divided into three chapters, the first dealing with the history of the origin and development of pre-school institutions. The second chapter deals with other child care services from 1 year to 7 years in the Czech Republic. The third chapter explains in detail how the children's group works and what it has to fulfil. In the practical part, a combination of quantitative and qualitative research was used. A semi-structured interview was conducted with the leaders of each children's group. A questionnaire was created for the parents whose children attend these facilities, and it was sent in bulk by the informants. The information obtained was elaborated in the form of mind maps, tables and graphs. The results of this work may be useful for the idea of running children's groups within the South Bohemian Region. They can be used by current or future employees in children's groups, parents using this service, or those who decide to include children in a children's group. Furthermore, students of pedagogical disciplines and also the general public may increase their awareness of this service.

One of the goals is to find the right place for this kind of services in the context of work and family synchronization. Due to bad situation about the capacity of the public kindergartens (which are completely full) it really is necessary to find some other possibilities how to make work-life balancing easier. Because it is a dealbreaker for the parenthood. Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs of Czech Republic puts forward a proposal of using the alternative way of childcare in the sense of private care. But the opinion about private childcare - if it is proper, available and if it comes up our expectations - is still kind of questionable. That is why there is also an empirical part of this thesis. It includes a modest survey. The leading goal of this survey was to find the attitude of Czech parents to the alternative childcare services. Also it tries to evaluate important connection between the formal and informal services. There are also positive and negative aspects of single of them from the parental view. In the conclusion the...
